Sgraffito Workshop Facilitator

These are examples of work from a Sgraffito Workshop I facilitated at Plantiitas, in Long Beach, CA.

In this workshop, each person decorated 1 greenware coffee tumbler utilizing the sgraffito technique. A method of decorating pottery produced by applying layers of color, in the form of underglaze or colored slip, to leather hard pottery that are then scratched into to reveal the clay color underneath. Resulting in contrasting images, patterns and texture.

I led the participants through the sgraffito process to help bring their ideas to life. There were 15 participants in total.
